Ante la gran demanda de una población que crece por el auge de la agroexportación
¡Al encuentro de su pueblo! Una delegación de autoridades de la Alta Dirección de la Universidad Nacional de Trujillo encabezada por el Dr. Juan Villacorta Vásquez -en representación del rector Dr. Carlos Vásquez Boyer- visitó la provincia de Virú para escuchar las demandas de la población ante la necesidad de contar con una filial de la UNT en dicha zona.
El vicerrector Académico, Dr. Juan Villacorta Vásquez, en compañía de los representantes de escuelas y facultades de nuestra universidad, se reunió con el alcalde de Virú, Ing. Javier Mendoza Torres, quien los invitó para expresarles el pedido de los padres de familia y la juventud viruñera de que se reabra la filial de la UNT en esta provincia cuya principal actividad económica es la agroindustria.
La delegación de la UNT estuvo integrada por el decano de la Facultad de Ingeniería, Dr. Miguel Benites Gutiérrez; el jefe de Calidad Universitaria, Dr. Guillermo Linares Luján; el asesor de Despacho Rectoral, Dr. Jorge Quezada Flores; así como representantes de las Facultades de Enfermería, Agropecuarias y Económicas, y la Escuela de Posgrado.
Durante el encuentro, la autoridad universitaria se comprometió -previo al cumplimiento de las condiciones mínimas de calidad de la Sunedu- en reabrir la Filial UNT Virú en el mes de abril con al menos dos carreras. Mientras que, la municipalidad acordó conceder el espacio físico para las aulas.
Asimismo, nuestra universidad dispondría la presencia de docentes de la sede central con el apoyo económico inicial de la Municipalidad Provincial de Virú y sus aliados, pero que luego deberán ser asumidos desde el Ministerio de Educación.
Campaña de Asesoría Jurídica
La Universidad Nacional de Trujillo en coordinación con la Municipalidad Provincial de Virú desarrollaron una Campaña de Asesoría Jurídica gratuita en donde los estudiantes de la Facultad de Derecho y Ciencias Políticas de nuestra universidad brindaron servicios legales a los ciudadanos de escasos recursos económicos de esta zona y sectores aledaños.
La atención estuvo a cargo de los estudiantes del último año de la Escuela Profesional de Derecho, quienes forman parte del Centro de Proyección y Extensión Jurídico Político (CEPEJUP) – Consultorio Jurídico Gratuito de la UNT. Los servicios que ofrecieron fueron en materia de derecho civil, penal, laboral, administrativo, de familia, entre otros.
Esta actividad se realizó durante la visita a la provincia y contó con la participación de la Banda de Músicos de la UNT para el disfrute de la población asistente.
